Through these hard economic times, Joe Addabbo has been there for his district, protecting what is important —our schools, our safety, our seniors, and our local businesses. Joe has worked with his district to build a strong and efficient local economy. He has provided his district’s communities with a voice in the affairs that affect their lives, allowing the community to function independent of controlling upstate interests.
The economic recession has forced government’s nation-wide to make budget cuts. Subsequently, Joe has had to make tough decisions, voting to close multi-billion dollar budget gaps and to find savings through government consolidation. Yet, he has been able to make these necessary, but difficult cuts, while also avoiding layoffs and preserving the services on which working families and seniors depend most.Joe serves on the bipartisan government efficiency task force, which is cracking down on unnecessary resource allocation at state agencies, and promoting cost-savings and consolidation in order to put excess funds to better use.
